Willis C. Lee, MS - Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board
Mr. Lee was appointed Chief Executive Office and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company on July 15, 2024 and October 2, 2023, respectively. He served as Chief Operating Officer since May 2011 and as a director since December 2015 and served as Vice-Chairman of the board of directors from January 2016 and as Chief Financial Officer from October 2016 to July 2018 of EMI Holding. Mr. Lee also previously served as a director of EMI Holding from May 2011 to May 2014 and again from December 2015 to January 2016. Mr. Lee served as the Co-Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer and as a director of Emmaus Medical from March 2010 to May 2011. He was the Controller at Emmaus Medical from February 2009 to February 2010. From 2004 to 2010, Mr. Lee led worldwide sales and business development of Yield Dynamics product group at MKS Instruments, Inc. Prior to that time, Mr. Lee held managerial and senior positions at various public and private companies in the actuarial, semiconductor, and defense industries. Mr. Lee received his B.S. degree and a M.S. degree in Physics from University of Hawaii and University of South Carolina, respectively.
Wei Peu (Derek) Zen, MBA - Director
Mr. Zen is Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wai Kee Holdings Limited., a Hong Kong-based construction and infrastructure company whose shares are listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Limited. He is also the Chairman of Build King Holdings Limited and Chairman of Road King Infrastructure Limited, both of which are subsidiaries of Wai Kee Holdings Limited. Mr. Zen has over 45 years of experience in civil engineering, and is responsible for the overall management of the Wai Kee Holdings Limited group of companies and oversees the operations of the group’s construction, quarry and concrete divisions. Mr. Zen holds a B.Sc. degree in Engineering from The University of Hong Kong and a M.B.A. degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is a member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and fellow member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and the Institute of Quarrying, UK respectively. He is a past Honorary Treasurer of Hong Kong Construction Association and a member of HKTDC Infrastructure Development Advisory Committee. He is also the President of Hong Kong Contract Bridge Association.
Jon Kuwahara, CPA- Director
Mr. Kuwahara was appointed as a director and Chairman of the Audit Committee on October 1, 2024. He previously served as a director of Emmaus and as Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Corporate Governance and Compensation Committees of the Board from January 2016 to September 2018. He has served as Vice President – Finance of Crinetics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRNX), San Diego, California, since August 2021. Prior to that time, Mr. Kuwahara served as Senior Vice President – Finance and Administration of Novus Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: NVUS), Irvine, California, from July 2016 to July 2021 and in senior finance and accounting positions with a number of other life sciences companies. Mr. Kuwahara is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting, degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, Hawaii.
